Marketing / Promotion 

Pharmacare creates medical solutions depending on the local demand hinging upon the dominant phenomena all the way to therapy and observation.  To assure that eligible end-users could make the best out of a released medicine, it is essential that healthcare professionals receive correct information. Export

 

The Quality certificates Pharmacare received, namely the various GMP certificates which attest to the Quality our products allowed us to enter a new era by stepping into international markets. Obtaining the European Belarus and ANVISA GMP certificates allowed exporting our products access to various EU, former Soviet and Latam countries. We take pride in our successful international relations and ability to manufacture and supply products that are up to International Quality standards and match requirements set in the European Marketing Authorization specifications, thus allowing the marketing of our products in countries like Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Poland, Bulgaria, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Germany Malta and various others.   

Our position in the international market is further reinforced by the presence and operations of Pharmacare Premium facilities in Malta. This has strategically placed Pharmacare as the first Palestinian Pharmaceutical manufacturer Europe. Our exports to Ex-Soviet states, namely Belarus, Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan started 24 years ago and have been successfully developing. Our efforts are not only focused on international markets but also on cooperating with regional / neighbouring countries. Our recent acquisition of 10% of the Baghdad based Iraqi Pharmaceutical Industry and our joint venture deal with Hikma Pharmaceuticals in Jordan is an example of our regional strategy.

Additionally, the department is responsible for coordinating the logistics of our exported products. Which, due to current political impediments and the restrains Palestinian exports face, it becomes essential that such coordination is done with extensive follow-up and agility.

Research

 

It is scientific excellence that promotes the renovative breakthroughs of tomorrow. At Pharmacare, and given the political situation, we are starting our efforts to launch a research campaign of clinically differentiated pharmaceuticals, majorly for Oncology, Drug Delivery Dynamics and Herbal Extracts: 

Our pipeline has been a key theme of attention for the past few years and is anticipated to bear fruits beginning 2019 – 2020.

Pharmacare research sites are located in Pharmacare (PCP), Palestine, and Pharmacare (PCM), Malta.

 

 

 
 

Technical and Development (T&D)

 

An essential department in pharmaceutical companies as it has the role of formulating aspects of research and development proposals. The department directs the collection of information and references on drug products to be studied in terms of its pharmaceutical integrity. It is a crucial component in evaluating the practicality of new products and administers experimental studies that are ancillary in making an informed decision with regard to    marketing, registration and business developments. To do that, the T&D utilizes some cutting-edge analytical methods and equipments, which allow the execution of projects and research studies conveniently. It is further responsible to set limits, specification and work instructions of materials, facilities, processes and equipments used at Pharmacare.    

The role of the T&D department is not only limited to the process of creating the brand, but to also retrospectively ensure the consistence of its quality. Hence, it is primarily divided into two main domains: the formulation of generic products and stability studies. The latter satisfies locally and internationally dictated requirements, which aim to study the longevity of pharmaceutical products in relation to environmental and climate conditions. It is our aim to continuously provide improvements in the quality, safety, and diversity of our products, keeping in mind an endeavour to reduced costs and maximized efficacy.

 

 

 
 

Quality Control (QC)

 

The QC Department has the skills and technical knowledge to test the quality of our products before, during, and after the process of manufacturing a product. It utilizes specialized modern technologies in chemical, physical and microbiological analysis, which enable comprehensive quality assessments and the taking of informed decisions.  The department encompasses several stages that work complementarily in the verification of the chemical and physical aspects of our medicinal products. The role of QC is present in every step in the manufacturing of a product from raw material form, In Process testing and finally packaging as a finished pharmaceutical that is ready to be sold to the market.

The continuous changing nature and the demanding requirements of pharmacopeial and non-pharmacopeial guidelines render the acquisition of skills and training a priority. We constantly look for highly skilled and competent chemists, pharmacists, biologists and micro-biologists to be part of our team.    

 

 

 
 

Quality Assurance

 

Pharmacare is committed to providing safe and effective medicinal products to patients and consumers; this is the fundamental motto that we continuously strive to. To meet this aspiration, the Quality Assurance Department serves to be the corner stone in the implementation of a comprehensive quality management system for the company. It strives to oversee the quality through ensuring adherence to the adopted international guidelines that govern the pharmaceutical industry. Our interdisciplinary role includes but is not limited to the following: 

  • Ensuring full implementation of regulations that control records, documentations, and data recordings.
  • Ensuring full compliance with GMP regulations that allows obtaining certifications from local as well as international health authorities. 
  • Ensuring that all employees and workers at Pharmacare are medically fit and have the education, training, and skills needed to enable them to carry out their work with competency.
  • Ensure implementation of Quality Management System ISO certification 9001-2015, in addition to Environmental Management System ISO certification 14001-2015. 

Our quality endeavour has created a quality-focused culture that ensures a constant critical thinking and a risk-based decision making. Regulatory Affairs (RA)

 

The Regulatory Affairs department compiles the registration dossiers that are needed to ensure proper registration of our products with local and external authorities. The department, comprising a team of pharmacists and chemists, works closely with health authorities to ensure that requirements of registration are fulfilled and satisfied. This depends highly on our promptness in processing the authorities’ requests in a timely manner. As  registration data are generated by different departments within Pharmacare, RA’s interdisciplinary skills to coordinate between different departments and execute projects effortlessly are crucial.

The RA department is the focal point in our relationship with regulatory authorities, and therefore it is our responsibility to ensure that post-marketing product is compliant to regulations. Thus, as pharmacovigilance is attaining an increased importance in local and international regulations, this has placed a particular attention on the topic in our department and we aim to enhance our role in that regard.

The department takes the responsibility to relay all updates on specifications, method of analysis for all starting materials, packaging materials and finished products according to latest pharmacopoeias and international standards and as requested by the local and international health authorities. With our expanding market both locally and internationally, the department plays an integral role in liaising between different departments within Pharmacare and the legal authorities.

 

 
 

Validation

 

The validation department provides compelling documentary evidence that the procedure, process, or activity carried out in testing and then production remains within the same level of compliance at all stages. It plays an important role in ensuring that all Pharmacare products are manufactured according to the c-GMP guidelines through using the proper processes, equipments, methods of analysis and methods of cleaning. The department provides evidence through diligent experimentations that final testing for compliance of products and the manufacturing process consistently produce the expected results. These results form an integral part of the specification and work instructions of materials, facilities, processes and equipments.

Qualification of systems and equipment is therefore an essential part of the process of validation. This includes: Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ). Validation is a requirement of drug and pharmaceutical regulating agencies and their good manufacturing practices guidelines. Since a wide variety of procedures, processes, and activities need to be validated, our validation department carries out the following validation types:

  • Facilities validation including  DQ, IQ , OQ and PQ
  • Laboratory equipments validation including DQ, IQ , OQ and PQ
  • Process equipments validation including DQ, IQ , OQ and PQ
  • Cleaning validation provides a high degree of assurance that the cleaning process of equipment, consistently removes residues to predetermined levels of acceptability taking in to consideration factors such as batch size, dosing, toxicology and equipment size, in order to prevent contamination or adulteration of drug products.
  • Manufacturing process Validation provides a high degree of assurance that a specific process will consistently produce a product meeting its predetermined specifications and quality characteristics.
  • Analytical method validation provides evidence that the performance of analytical methods meets the requirements for an intended application.

 

 
 

Supply Chain/Materials

 

The Supply Chain / Materials department is inevitably one of the essential departments with regard to quality and upgrading of our manufacturing processes. The department takes the responsibility to prepare policies and procedures that are necessary for having an effective purchasing system in place. Its role in providing a prompt access and availability to materials is crucial in executing production orders; it also plays a critical role in providing equipments, machines, and other accessories required for different departments in a timely manner.

The department is highly vigilant of Pharmacare’s available inventory and materials and equipment to be ordered; integral to this is to insure that all procurements comply fully with the preset parameters and specifications. This necessitates being aware of our raw material, packing, and laboratory material needs. Our warehouses retain the stocks of material obtained and are under extensive monitoring to insure compliance with good storage practice.   A risk based approach is employed in decision making at the department, which embodies the vast knowledge and experience required to ensure commitment to quality guidelines and specifications. Our purchases continuously reflect our commitments to quality and we closely work with the quality departments to ensure compliance.

 

 
 

Production

 

Manufacturing at Pharmacare corresponds to providing critical healthcare products to people in Palestine and target countries: we currently have 3 plants in 3 countries. Our diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical products comprises quality generic medicines based mainly on traditional chemistry for a variety of different therapeutic areas and in various dosage forms. Secure and speedy production is key and it is coordinated from our headquarters in Palestine.

Engineering

 

The engineering department plays an important role in supporting all the other departments to ensure that the facilities are working in accordance to the  c-GMP regulations by performing the following duties:

  • Application of the general maintenance programs for the different facilities and departments.
  • Application of the preventive maintenance programs for all the production machines and facility utilities to ensure that all equipments are in good conditions and proper for their use.
  • Application of the corrective action that includes the repairing of all production machines and facility utilities when a malfunction occurs during routine work.
  • Qualification and Requalification of all the production machines, facilities and the water treatment system.
  • Responsibility for the mapping of Pharmacare’s warehouses to ensure that all our products are stored according to the Good Storage Practice.
  • Responsibility for monitoring of the environmental conditions inside the different departments of the company and to take the correct actions in case of deviations.
  • Responsibility for the safety requirements inside the facility and acting as an important part of the environmental management system team .

The Pharmacare IT Department is an integral component of the overall formula of success. It is a cohesive part of the business and is a major pioneer towards an efficient functioning of the other teams. The Pharmacare IT is not only a great place to work but also a great place to grow.
